Physical Therapy

Physical therapy is a form of medical treatment based on movement that allows you to optimize performance and function while simultaneously decreasing pain. Much like some hairstylists being a better fit for you than others, physical therapy is the same way! Our 60 minute, 1-1 treatment sessions include interventions like dry needling, osteopractic manipulation, therapeutic exercise & more to get the best results for YOU.

Physical therapy at SPP includes interventions such as dry needling with or without electrical stimulation (e-stim), manual therapy (hands-on joint or tissue mobilization), osteopractic joint manipulation, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, blood flow restriction training (BFR), cupping, scraping, & more. Services performed at each session are specific to your plan of care and what is best for you as determined by your evaluation.

The frequency of physical therapy visits is determined by your plan of care and is individualized to each patient by your physical therapist. At SPP, 5 visits over 2.5 months is the average amount of time we see our patients until symptom resolution & patient’s goals have been met.

Progress towards your goals of physical therapy comes in many ways such as decreased pain, improved efficiency of movement, increased strength, increased endurance, improved balance and much more. Overall, you should expect to see pain decrease over your plan of care to know if it is working.

Yes, physical therapists obtain a doctorate degree in physical therapy. Physical therapists do not prescribe drugs (medication) and physical therapists do not perform surgery.

Most patients at SPP receive 50-80% reimbursement for their physical therapy services based on out-of-network benefits depending on their insurance plan. We can accept HSA or FSA cards, credit, debit or cash payments up front. It is the patient’s responsibility to know their specific insurance plan benefits and to submit any necessary insurance claims to their insurer for reimbursement after being treated at SPP.

At SPP, we do not believe in “one size fits all” for our treatment plans. Every plan of care is specific to you, your goals, and your injury. As such, we do not provide standalone services. All treatment interventions are available to be utilized during your 60-minute physical therapy sessions in order to get you the best long-term results.

No, not at SPP. Dr. Jesse will determine if seeing another medical provider is necessary for you based on your evaluation. This helps save you time and money by eliminating unnecessary appointments and imaging such as x-rays/MRI.

No less than 2 months is ideal to allow you the opportunity for the best results and establishing lifelong, healthy habits. Many people will work with their personal trainer for years to decades!

A good personal trainer is a phenomenal asset for you on your weight loss journey. In general, yes, a personal trainer would be a great idea if your goal is to lose weight as they can help develop a safe, effective exercise program for you. If you want the best results, it is also wise to have a nutrition coach help you with your diet as well.

Group Fitness

Group fitness is just what it sounds like; a group of people working towards improving their fitness together. At SPP, we offer numerous classes for both beginners and veterans alike to give you the support, accountability and motivation you crave to get your best results ever.

There are a lot! Benefits like accountability, friendship, social support, increased enjoyment, motivation, & better results to name a few.

Group fitness coaching involves instructing and leading a fitness class of 3 or more people. Group fitness coaching goes far beyond the class though as your coaches will keep you as motivated as possible outside of the gym!

Group fitness is increasingly popular as many of us struggled with isolation when we were forced to quarantine and because physical fitness and exercise are a challenge for many of us. Exercising with a group of supportive peers makes the activity much more enjoyable for many people and motivates us to stay consistent!

This depends on numerous factors, but ultimately the biggest factor is…YOU! Are you committed and hungry for results? If so, our group fitness classes will not let you down.

Nutrition

Nutrition is the ability of the food and drink that we consume to meet the demands of our activity level and metabolic needs. Nutrition depends on the quality of the foods you eat/drinks you drink, the amount of foods you eat/drinks you drink and the time you eat/drink them.

Protein, Carbohydrates, & Fats are known as macronutrients. Other nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and water cannot be discounted!

Well, take a guess!….Water! The adult body is roughly 70% water, so you better be getting yours.

This depends on your age, sex, activity level, health status/disease conditions, your stress level, the temperature and more! In general, you want to be getting water, vitamins, minerals, carbs, fats and proteins daily.

Red meats, fruit, vegetables, eggs, salmon, nuts/legumes, dairy products and more! Again, this can very from person to person depending on physiology and allergy considerations.

Gym Memberships

The best gym to join is the one that helps you to reach your health and fitness goals. At SPP we offer physical therapy services, personal training, sports performance services, custom nutrition, group fitness, remote programming and more to help you be the best YOU!

Support, accountability and motivation are essential for beginners in the gym and we offer all of that at the highest level. From our staff to our members, we’re all here to help you be the best YOU!

We offer discounts to high school students, first responders and active duty military/veterans. Many employers also offer rebate programs for gym memberships, so ask your employer if you are eligible! If so, we provide all the receipts/documents for you to submit for reimbursement to your employer for your gym membership.

It depends. What are your goals? Would a gym membership help you move towards those goals? How valuable is it to you to build connections and relationships with a supportive gym community? Could those relationships astronomically outweigh the cost of your gym membership? Would you rather sacrifice your health for wealth just to spend your wealth trying to regain your health? You be the judge.

This depends on your health and fitness goals, your physiology, the type of workout you completed, the time of day and more.

Sports Performance

Sport performance encompasses the level of skill, quality and ability an athlete demonstrates in a given sport. This type of training can include speed, agility, power, endurance, skill, strength, mobility, & more to maximize your performance in your sport.

Sports performance includes numerous aspects; three major aspects are strength, speed and power.

Sports performance training is the process of developing and implementing a program to maximize your skill and capabilities in your sport. This includes resistance training, mobility exercises, skill acquisition, endurance training and more.

Level of fitness, athletic capabilities, experience level in the sport, previous/current injuries and more can affect your sport performance.
