Frequently Asked Questions

Physical therapy is a form of medical treatment based on movement that allows you to optimize performance and function while simultaneously decreasing pain. Much like some hairstylists being a better fit for you than others, physical therapy is the same way! Our 60 minute, 1-1 treatment sessions include interventions like dry needling, osteopractic manipulation, therapeutic exercise & more to get the best results for YOU.

Physical therapy at SPP includes interventions such as dry needling with or without electrical stimulation (e-stim), manual therapy (hands-on joint or tissue mobilization), osteopractic joint manipulation, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, blood flow restriction training (BFR), cupping, scraping, & more. Services performed at each session are specific to your plan of care and what is best for you as determined by your evaluation.

The frequency of physical therapy visits is determined by your plan of care and is individualized to each patient by your physical therapist. At SPP, 5 visits over 2.5 months is the average amount of time we see our patients until symptom resolution & patient’s goals have been met.

Progress towards your goals of physical therapy comes in many ways such as decreased pain, improved efficiency of movement, increased strength, increased endurance, improved balance and much more. Overall, you should expect to see pain decrease over your plan of care to know if it is working.

Yes, physical therapists obtain a doctorate degree in physical therapy. Physical therapists do not prescribe drugs (medication) and physical therapists do not perform surgery.

Most patients at SPP receive 50-80% reimbursement for their physical therapy services based on out-of-network benefits depending on their insurance plan. We can accept HSA or FSA cards, credit, debit or cash payments up front. It is the patient’s responsibility to know their specific insurance plan benefits and to submit any necessary insurance claims to their insurer for reimbursement after being treated at SPP.

At SPP, we do not believe in “one size fits all” for our treatment plans. Every plan of care is specific to you, your goals, and your injury. As such, we do not provide standalone services. All treatment interventions are available to be utilized during your 60-minute physical therapy sessions in order to get you the best long-term results.

No, not at SPP. Dr. Jesse will determine if seeing another medical provider is necessary for you based on your evaluation. This helps save you time and money by eliminating unnecessary appointments and imaging such as x-rays/MRI.
